This Day In Rock

Hello Friends and welcome to this hump-day edition of This Day In Rock. I hope your week is rolling along as smoothly as possible. Now, lets take that walk down musical memory lane.

On this day in 1957 "That'll Be The Day" becomes what would be the only number one hit for Buddy Holly and The Crickets.

Fast forward to 1967 ten years later when the doors would release "People Are Strange" (yes they are!) which would peak at 12.

In 1974 Elvis Presley decides to surprise his friends when he buys $100,000 worth of Cadillac's and Lincoln Continental's in Memphis his hometown.

In 1980 Bob Marley Collapses onstage and is flown to a nearby hospital where it is discovered that he has a brain tumor. He will live until the next may altho he was told he would only live one month.

On this Day in 1997 Soldier Field In Chicago Illinois is home to the start of the Rolling Stones Tour called Bridges To Babylon.

Well friends it looks like it was not much of an eventful day in the Rock N' Roll world. Don't worry I will be back tomorrow with more music history. So, until then...

PEACE!!!
