Three Days Grace at the Coliseum, with Breaking Benjamin and Flyleaf

It was a frigid Saturday night but Fort Wayne’s War Memorial Coliseum was packed to the rafters with fans.

Unfortunately I missed Flyleaf’s show. However there were hundreds of peopled lined up for their merchandise. I have no doubt that they had an amazing set. They’re touring in support of their newest album “Momento Mori”.

Breaking Benjamin shifted gears through an hour long set. The pace of which was set by the videos playing behind the band. The often random images drifted between entertaining and distracting. While I dig what they were going for; the videos took the attention off of the band, who gave a flawless performance.

Next Three Days Grace made a massive entrance with flashing lights and sirens. Everyone was on their feet. Amidst blinding lights and pyrotechnics, Frontman Adam Grontier delivered impressive vocals that had the 10,000 fans giving as good as they got and singing every word right back to him. The set was filled with fan favorites and radio hits like “Pain” and “I Hate Everything About You” with a fair dose of material from their latest album “Life Starts Now”.

The shows highlight was the dramatic response from the audience when, after an incredible drum solo by Neil Sanderson (on a rotating kit), Adam Grontier appears in the middle of the crowd for “I Don’t Care”.

It was an incredible show. Three Days Grace engaged the audience and at times the crowd was louder than any other.

These guys have come a long way from a modest start. It’s not just the fire leaping from the stage, they’ve definitely grown up.
