   I refuse to use the word [ever] but, I am sure you know the one I mean ~ the one where a bunch of well known musicians get together and form a band, yeah...that one! Things happened, years have passed and now we have Crash Karma... which embodies Edwin {vocals}, formerly of I Mother Earth/Edwin & the Pressure, Mike Turner {guitar}, formerly of Our Lady Peace, Amir Epstein {bass}, formerly of Zygote and Jeff Burrows {drums}, formerly of The Tea Party. As well as, Ron Bechard {guitar} of Sin Dealer/Basia Lyjak.

**At the moment, the cd is only available in Canada however, Crash Karma U.S. fans, can buy the cd off this Canadian site, and they will ship internationally.**

James Lomenzo (Megadeth, Black Label Society) joins Lynch Mob for their summer tour in support of their current release “Smoke and Mirrors” on Frontiers Records. The band line-up for this tour consists of George Lynch (shred master), Oni Logan (vox),

and Brian Tichy (time-keeper).

After seventeen long years singer Oni Logan and guitar wizard George Lynch found their way back together and again show their amazing abilities in some killer new Hard Rock songs.” I would say this new record "Smoke and Mirrors", is the record we should have put out as a follow up to "Wicked Sensation"...better late than never I guess...”, says Lynch presenting the new record.

Lynch Mob was formed by George Lynch, one of the few genuine guitar heroes of substance to emerge from the Los Angeles scene, after DOKKEN split up in 1989. The band’s first album” Wicked Sensation” went on to sell over 500,000 units in the US and featured the talents of singer 
Oni Logan, Anthony Esposito on bass and another former DOKKEN member Mick Brown on drums. After a tour in support of Queensryche, Logan opted out, with Robert Mason taking his place on the follow up self titled release. However Lynch and Brown eventually returned to Dokken releasing 2 studio albums until he left again in late 1997 putting together a several new incarnations of Lynch Mob and exploring new sounds with different projects.

THE AUTUMN OFFERING release new album and teaser for music video

The Autumn Offering is back.....with an onslaught of hatred and self-loathing, in tow! Simply titled The Autumn Offering, this is by far the band's most crushing release to date. Chock-full of blast beats, grind drumming, and twin guitar wizardry, this album will certainly kick your ass; vocalist Matt McChesney’s screams sound as if he is being "burned at the stake”!

With a handful of new members, the band promises to be the strongest and gnarliest they’ve ever been. Revisiting their roots, the band claims that the title track to 2007’s Fear Will Cast No Shadow is a menacing blueprint for this album. Matt McChesney adds “I always thought we were unfairly lumped in with the ‘metalcore’ bands. I always thought we did much more musically and were a bit more sophisticated then your typical good cop/bad cop band. It takes balls to admit this, but yeah, we wrote a few songs that were mistakes. We made a push, half-heartedly, for the mainstream. Yet I feel like a few bad choices don't taint two albums that I love dearly. There were a million reasons to make a record like this. Also, sensing the death of that genre of metal it made no sense to make a record that resembled it. I think we came out of it all, integrity intact."

The new single “Born Dead” is brutally and fittingly accompanied by an eerie music video yet to be unleashed, however, a sneak peak teaser is available here.

The Autumn Offering will be out on Victory Records August 31st, 2010.

About The Band:

The brutally honest and unforgiving metal rockers known as THE AUTUMN OFFERING said it best themselves when describing their sound as “dirty metal rock and roll with a punk rock attitude.” The band surfaced in 1999, a time when the likes of Blink-182 and New Found Glory were living it up through constant rotation on the airwaves and when people were begging for a breath of fresh dirty air. Never diverting from their original plan of presenting the truth to the world, Matt McChesney (vocals) Tommy Church (guitars) Jesse Nunn (guitars) Brian Sculley (drums) and Carl Bensley (bass) are gearing up to issue their latest assault, The Autumn Offering.

To date, THE AUTUMN OFFERING have four albums under their metal belt: Revelations of the Unsung, Embrace the Gutter, Fear Will Cast No Shadow, and Requiem. Not known to keep their voices quiet noir their opinions to themselves, the band is about to release its fifth album on Victory Records, self-titled The Autumn Offering. Despite the army of loyal followers the band has accumulated, they still feel the need to prove something to the world, and they plan on doing so with this upcoming release. “This will be one of the most crushing releases of the year, and no doubt the heaviest, angriest, Victory album to date,” said McChesney.

 To coin their aggressive blend of heavy metal and melody-loaded rock, THE AUTUMN OFFERING began to tour relentlessly in early 2000 which eventually grabbed the attention of Hatebreed front man Jamey Jasta. He signed the band to Stillborn Records and the release of Revelations of the Unsung shortly followed. It was this very album that would spark the 2005 addition to the Victory Records clan, whom at the time was already home to metal acts such as Darkest Hour and Between the Buried and Me.

While the band is notorious for living up to the glory party days of metal, think the debauchery of Mötley Crüe and the darkness of Metallica all thrown into one, THE AUTUMN OFFERING is also well-known for its serious side, aimed to stand for the everyday Joe. When speaking about Embrace the Gutter Robbins explained, “We stand for the common person. We’re not pretty, we don’t sell records on looks and we don’t give a fuck about anything but our band and our fans.” He went on to add that the main goal for THE AUTUMN OFFERING is to be a “breath of fresh air for those who are depressed, frustrated, and are looking for a screaming voice they can relate to.”

 The new self-titled album, slated for release August 31, 2010, will prove to be a turning point for the band. While keeping true to their attitude towards their fans and themselves, THE AUTUMN OFFERING are stepping things up lyrically and letting it all hang out. As far as the content goes McChesney says, “I don’t speak of childish teen angst…I’m talking real hatred spawned from my hellish childhood. There is nothing fake or contrived about this.” He adds, “It’s from my heart, scars and all. It’s honest, brutal, and disturbing.” Fans have come to expect nothing less from one of the most rock and roll metal bands in the scene today.

The future is promising for THE AUTUMN OFFERING. What makes them stand apart from their peers is their ability to seamlessly blend metal’s traditional dark outlook with mind-boggling solos fashioned in the styles of heroes like Guns N’ Roses. They have accomplished more than many could even hope for, having shared the stage alongside Slayer, Slipknot, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage and more, but that doesn’t mean that THE AUTUMN OFFERING plan on holding their ground. MVD Entertainment Group has launched the site http://www.InTheHandsOfTheFans.comto offer fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to film and interview Iggy and the Stooges performing the seminal punk rock masterpiece RAW POWER at the All Tomorrow's Parties Festival on September 3, 2010. Six lucky fans will be chosen by way of a video submission contest to join director Joey Carey on location at the Stardust Theater at Kutchers' Country Club in Monticello, NY. This marks the reunion between Iggy Pop and powerhouse guitarist James Williamson as well as original Stooges drummer Scott "Rock Action" Asheton. The contest is based on fans submitting short high definition video segments asking Iggy and the Stooges interview questions, or demonstrating why they should win the contest. Welsh rock sensations Bullet For My Valentine return to North America in September. In support of their latest album Fever, the four-man band will kick-off a 32-date tour on September 16 in Wichita, KS at The Cotillion.  Escape the Fate, Black Tide and Drive A will open all shows.
 
Their third major label release, Fever, debuted at No. 1 on the Rock, Alternative and iTunes Rock charts and No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart and  marking Bullet For My Valentine's highest American debut to date. Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte) produced Fever at studios in Los Angeles and Wales.
 
USA Today called Fever "The hot-zone of 2010 rock-metal discs," The Associated Press praised the album's "blistering drum attack, tight power chords and...old school-styled, soaring guitar solos" and the BBC trumpeted that "BFMV are aiming for world domination, and with Fever they may well achieve it."

Big Lou Guitars develops the Big Lou Wide Nut guitar with extra wide fretboards and nuts to accommodate those with bigger hands and fingers.  The wider string spacing offers generous room for easier playability and accuracy.

Serial inventor/entrepreneur, Louis Carroll stumbled across the idea four months into beginning guitar lessons.  After struggling with the limited width of standard fretboards and the narrow spacing between strings, Carroll set out to design an affordable, feature packed electric guitar to accommodate those with bigger hands and fingers – an ideal guitar to suit his playing needs.

Following the success of their 25th Anniversary World Tour earlier this year, legendary rock band Stryper headed into the studio to work on their upcoming album, The Covering, tentatively scheduled for release October 13th from Big3 Records/SONY. For a limited time, fans can preview the new album by following Stryper frontman Michael Sweet on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/michaelhsweet, where he will be revealing a hidden website where fans can hear exclusive song clips not available anywhere else.

The Covering, produced by Michael Sweet, will be unlike any previous Stryper recording, in that it’s a collection of cover songs from bands that inspired them and helped to shape their sound and musical identity, including past hits from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Kansas and many others. A cover of Black Sabbath’s hit “Heaven and Hell” will be the first single, with an expected iTunes release in advance of the album. The Covering will also include “God,” a new original recording from Stryper.

"Stryper recorded The Yellow and Black Attack (Enigma Records) back in 1983, and it was released the following year,” says Michael. “Twenty six years have passed and after seven studio releases and multiple compilation and live projects, we decided to show our fans where our roots lie musically. The Covering consists of particular songs and groups that molded and shaped us and made us who we are today.”

One of the highlights for Stryper fans is that The Covering is the first studio album in nearly two decades on which all four original members, plus longtime keyboardist Charles Foley, have recorded together.

“This record includes the original lineup,” explains Michael. “Tim, Robert, Oz and I haven't recorded a full-length project together since 1990’s Against the Law (Enigma Records), so this is truly history in the making. We also had what was probably the best time we've ever had recording a record together and I believe that this comes through in the energy and the spirit of each track. We're all extremely excited about this record and more importantly, we're all extremely confident about the future of Stryper and the four of us making music together for years to come."

About the band: When it came to writing South America, THIEVES & VILLAINS decided to sculpt the album as if they were the only four people on earth to hear it. Looking for a new sense of direction, THIEVES & VILLAINS mentally escaped to a beautiful hiding place that they named South America. The band found that this venture in their collective minds would allow them to be free, which in-turn, helped create music that excited them, and that they would ultimately fall in love with. However, the record was still being created under the same confines as many bands today; a spastic sinking ship of a country that has never been as stressed out, paranoid, or misled as it is right now… an America that is truly going “South.” The result of this is the album title that came to represent the dichotomy of one location being the place you hate and love the most; the place you escape to, yet the place you despise. Produced by Tim Gilles, THIEVES & VILLAINS took an old approach and made it new again. In a world of over-produced and over-auto-tuned songs recorded take after take, the band set out to bring music as a whole, back to its roots. “We record the entire album to analog tape on Mr. Gilles’ vintage tape machines and used all our own gear and live tones. We didn’t do takes of anything to death and approached every section with a real “what you see is what you get” logic. What you’re listening to is not the productive of hours of tweaking…its the product of a few friends having fun and making music the old fashioned way.”

THIEVES & VILLAINS took the same indie-rock vibe as VAMPIRE WEEKEND, combined it with the childlike sense of wonder found in an early DANIEL JOHNSTON song, and added the quirkiness implemented in the Pinkerton-era of WEEZER while crafting their sophomore record THIEVES & VILLAINS ambitiously recorded South America to analog tape on vintage tape machines and used all their own gear and live tones. They didn’t record hundreds of takes on any song, and approached every section with real talent and logic. A one of a kind custom designed Gibson Les Paul guitar was unveiled to the public on July 14th, 2010 for the first time since it’s creation at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. What makes this guitar so historically significant is that it is entirely hand crafted from artifacts preserved during the centennial restoration of the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island.

This meaningful instrument was commissioned by Gold Leaf Corporation, through an exclusive agreement with The Statue of Liberty–Ellis Island Foundation, Inc., and crafted at Gibson’s Custom & Historic Division in Nashville, TN.

The entire body of the guitar is made from wood that was preserved from steps and doors of the historic Main Building at Ellis Island, the copper inlay and hardware of the Les Paul guitar were created from copper that was preserved from the Statue of Liberty National Monument. Gibson also created a beautiful display for the guitar from a section of an armature bar that was removed and preserved from the Statue of Liberty.

The Liberty Les Paul is the second in a series of fifty independent works of art (representing the 50 states) that will be made from the artifacts and known as “Liberty Ambassadors”. The first work of art in the series was the Liberty Bike, which was featured on the Discovery Channel.

“Utilizing the universal language of music, this beautiful example of instrumental art will always serve to inspire the unifying message of hope and freedom while celebrating the diversity of America,” said Rick Stocks, President of Gold Leaf Corporation.

American guitar legend Duane Eddy helped dedicate this one-of-a-kind guitar. Eddy is a Grammy Award winner, and a member of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While Steve Briganti, President & CEO of The Statue of Liberty – Ellis Island Foundation, Inc. looked on, Duane Eddy and Superintendent of the National Park Service, Dave Luchsinger, took turns strumming a few chords on the guitar with Eddy delighting the crowd by playing a little of his hit “Rebel Rouser”. Eddy then presented the guitar to the National Park Service, for placement in its impressive exhibit case. The guitar’s exhibit at Ellis Island marks the first time that this historic instrument has been placed on public display.

“The Spirit of America” Gibson Les Paul is one of the most symbolic and meaningful guitars in the world. It will be on display at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum through August 1, 2011.

Smashing through trends and brandishing a savage reminder of what heavy metal is all about, Sweden's sensational SISTER SIN has most definitely arrived on the scene.



An open audition for a band led by former bassist Chris Martensson landed drummer Dave Sundberg not only a new friendship, but blueprints for Sweden's dirty metal cartel SISTER SIN. Chris and Dave became fast friends, recognizing their mutual interest in 80's metal, and their yearning to play the music unconventional to their home country. The pair quickly formed a band of their own in hopes to assault ears all around the world.



The search for the perfect front man began; however, much disappointment delivered a diamond in the rough when the two came across Liv Jagrell in a local newspaper ad. Although a female part wasn't their original idea, they decided to give her a shot and Dave explains, "It turned out she could sing better and had more balls than any of the other guys who tried out for the gig." With Liv on board, there was only one link missing; a guitarist.



Without hesitation, Dave phoned an old high school friend, Jimmy Hiltula, who was known as the "best extreme metal guitar player around." With Jimmy's acceptance, everything was finally in place. The group began to perfect the SISTER SIN sound by fusing raw punk-rock energy with the power of classic metal. Six years later found the band on a search for a new bassist, as Chris left, pursing other life obligations. Benton Wiberg took his place and the lineup is now stronger than ever. Today, the furious foursome is on a mission to deliver rock through their captivating vocals, electrifying guitar riffs, and an overall hard-hitting metallic force.



SISTER SIN has been extremely successful in Europe, and with the help of Victory Records, they were able to bring their signature sound to the US. "Our drummer was looking at MTV one day," explains Liv, "And there was a video with a hardcore band. He thought, 'If this band could make such a high place on the US video list, why couldn't we?' He checked out the record label, and it was Victory. So he sent an e-mail, and Victory answered within an hour, saying they were interested. It was quite a surprise." SISTER SIN signed with Victory in the summer of 2008, and released their debut, Switchblade Serenades, shortly after.



Over the past year, SISTER SIN has completed two full US tours and played over 100 shows, including dates with MOTORHEAD, ILL NINO, AND FASTER PUSSYCAT. They were also graced with the honor of playing at the Swedish Rock Festival, which Liv described as a "dream come true."

Following extensive touring in support of Switchblade Serenades, SISTER SIN moved into a small apartment in Stockholm for almost three months to write and record their upcoming release, True Sound of the Underground in Stockholm with Henrik Edenhed. "Imagine Nikki Sixx being dirt broke moving into Lemmy´s one room apartment making an album together. Inject that combination with fresh blood and angry youth and you'll probably get an idea of what the new SISTER SIN album sounds like." Said Liv.



This album picks up right where their debut Switchblade Serenade left off. Dave explains, "Working on this album made us stronger and more determined than ever. When we go out on the road this year there certainly won't be any internal bullshit; no weakest link dragging the band down."  This band is not into retro, retread hype; this is a serious testament to the raucous spirit of true heavy metal and Rock 'n' Roll. Fuse, Madison Square Garden’s national music television network and MSG Entertainment today announced that three-time Grammy Award winning band Maroon 5 will perform at the Beacon Theatre on Tuesday, July 27 at 9pm ET to celebrate the release of Hands All Over, the band’s first studio album in three years. Kicking off their summer tour, the band will take the stage for “Fuse Presents: Maroon 5 Live From the Beacon Theatre” presented by Coca-Cola, airing live in HD on Fuse.  Fuse and Coca-Cola have collaborated to bring the show to fans across the U.S. with limited commercial interruptions.

There will be no public sale of tickets for the event. Instead, seats will be available for a charity to be selected by Maroon 5 and families who are affiliated with The Garden of Dreams Foundation, a charity that works closely with all areas of MSG to benefit kids in crisis in the tri-state area.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be doing this concert with Fuse,” said Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine. “The network has always been a huge supporter of what we’re doing musically and we’re honored to be joining the lineup of artists who have done this special with them in the past.”

Maroon 5’s highly anticipated third studio album, Hands All Over, is scheduled to drop on Tuesday, September 21 from A&M/Octone. Produced by rock studio legend Robert John "Mutt" Lange, well-known for his work with AC/DC, Def Leppard, The Cars and more, the album is a hybrid of rock, pop, funk and R&B. On Friday, July 30, Maroon 5 will begin their summer tour, encompassing nearly 30 dates by summer’s end. Benjamin Woods and his monster creation FLAMETAL will release their latest masterpiece “HEAVY MELLOW” July 6^th on Flametal Records. This album embraces the metal-works of SLAYER, MEGADETH, KISS and the SCORPIONS to name a few. "This is a Flamenco Guitar tribute album to some of the great Metal masterpieces,” says Woods. “It is definitely a different album from the other FLAMETAL releases and is more of a solo effort that is a very powerful to play live.  Although the songs are very dark, everyone gets it, even your Mom."

Woods is a new breed of virtuoso and a speed metal guitarist from the start. By a twist of fate Woods gear was stolen by a junkie, leaving him with only a Spanish Guitar to practice on. This was the defining moment that ignited a passion for Flamenco Guitar. After spending years studying and performing authentic Flamenco, Woods created the genre-bending group FLAMETAL, earning him an international reputation as the master of Flamenco and Metal.  Playing Metal without a pick, or distortion would seem impossible to most, but through his training and creativity, Woods is the first and only musician to successfully combine real Flamenco and Metal. Here he pays tribute to some of his favorite metal tunes, played in the Flamenco idiom, with traditional accompaniment. "I had to use all my Flamenco knowledge to play these metal favorites without losing the integrity so I picked great songs with great melodies.   On some songs I sped up the tempo, dropped a verse or created a new solo version only slightly changing the arrangements,” explains Woods. “The King Diamond song was a great challenge to put into the 12/8 time Flamenco rhythm of Bulerias, and the solo was definitely fun, but a bitch to learn on the Spanish guitar.  The Megadeth tune was difficult to create melodies from Mustaine's vocal grunts and growls, but cool how it fit into the slithery rhythm of Tanguillos.  I was very fortunate to have Steve Stevens do some nylon and electric guitar solos on my original tune "Cursed".  It's a raw preview of what the next original FLAMETAL album will be with many great guest artists featured."

Woods has built a substantial following through his years of touring and recording as “HEAVY MELLOW” unveils him to be a master musician with deep musical roots in metal, classical and Flamenco guitar.  Woods is also one of the only American Flamenco guitarists to ever grace the pages of Spain's national newspaper El Pais, and Spain's number one Flamenco publication ALMA 100.

Woods raw energy combined with exotic and sophisticated acoustic playing and the talent of a new-generation shred-master is a much needed breath of fresh air to the instrumental rock genre.

Fuse, Madison Square Garden’s national music television network, today announced “A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus,” a long-form original series scheduled to premiere in September.  Hosted by musician (Blink 182 and +44) and producer Mark Hoppus, this one-hour, innovative weekly show will cover everything in the world of music.

Every week, Hoppus and his co-host will offer a place for music fans to discover and indulge their passions through interviews with artists and celebrities and musical performances by mainstream and emerging bands.  “A Different Spin with Mark Hoppus” will also feature music news, fun panel discussions and special reports from the show’s correspondents, offering a humorous and entertaining spin on the music industry, including concert tours, festival and other music-related happenings.  Additional information about the show, co-host and correspondents will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

The term “Super-Group” describes a band rising out of two of the most creative bands of the past 30 years: YOSO is formed out of TOTO’s brilliant lead vocalist Bobby Kimball and the creative force of former YES members, Tony Kaye and Billy Sherwood, thus equalling the magic of YES with the voice of TOTO. However, YOSO is much more than a combination of two classic rock groups. The band’s debut album “Elements” will debut July 2^nd in Europe and July 23^rd in the USA on Frontiers Records. This long awaited release comes with a bonus live CD where the band plays some old and new classics. This musical blend presents a fascinating combination of the sound of YES ("90125"/"Big Generator" era) and TOTO, with a very interesting and original sound that truly encompasses the styles.

This DVD includes an incredible collection of official archival performance footage from around the world compiled from the original masters.  It features 18 performances from various locations such as MTV Rock Influences '84 "Guitar Greats", Massey Hall (Toronto '83), Roskilde DRTV (Roskilde, Denmark '84), New Hampshire ('84), Sonet Studio (Bromma, Sweden '87), Piazza Duomo (Pistoia, Italy '88), and more. Intermixed with the live content is interview footage from various locations. This program is the definitive document of Johnny's career in the '80s, and is also the perfect companion to 2007's live DVD compilation, Live Through the '70s.

The program kicks off in grand style with four performances culled from Johnny's long-sought-after 1983 appearance at Canada's Massey Hall. Leading his high-energy trio -- Jon Paris (bass, harmonica) and Bobby T. Torello (drums) -- with laser-like focus and fire-breathing intensity, the DVD opens with a blistering rendition of the Sonny Boy Williamson blues classic, "Unseen Eye." Johnny would later release a studio version of this track on 1985's Serious Business [Alligator].

Next up is Johnny's original mid-tempo ballad, "Stranger," for which he plays a solo that is nothing short of a textbook of his virtuoso capabilities: with blazing speed and razor-sharp execution, Johnny's ideas flow from one to the next with his one-of-a-kind unrelenting drive and inspired, passionate execution. The Massey Hall segment rounds out with Johnny's original fingerpicked Delta-style blues workout, "Sweet Papa John," and the rock 'n' roll classic, "I Used to Love Her."

The next two tracks come from Johnny's 1984 performance at the Capital Theater in Passaic, NJ, featuring the hard-driving shuffle "Mad Dog" (released on that year's Guitar Slinger [Alligator]) and the slow blues workout, "Good Times Woman." With his newly acquired headstock-less Lazer guitar, Johnny plays with mind-boggling speed and flawless precision.

Later that same year, Johnny performed in front of 100,000 people at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, with Paris and new drummer Tom Compton. Four tracks are included from this outstanding performance: "Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Boot Hill," plus incendiary versions of two of Winter's signature tunes, Bob Dylan's "Highway 61 Revisited" and Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode." Shirtless and with his screamin' demon tattoo in full view, Johnny prowls the stage like a possessed madman.

The fast rock 'n' roller "Lights Out [Guitar Slinger] and Johnny's old favorite, "Please Come Home for Christmas," filmed in 1984 in New Hampshire, are succeeded by two videos shot for Alligator Records: the Guitar Slinger version of "Don't Take Advantage of Me"-which was, at the time, shown in high rotation on MTV--and a very rare and candid interview with Johnny, during which he plays unaccompanied electric guitar.

This DVD also includes rarely seen archival footage of Johnny riding his tour bus, talking candidly about his deep feelings for blues music, and relaxing backstage prior to a Swedish television appearance in 1987. Two songs are included from that performance: a rock-solid rendition of "Sound the Bell" (featuring subtle quotes from Freddie King's "Sen-Sa-Shun" and "San-Ho-Zay") and the hard-rocking shuffle that has become one of Johnny signature songs, "Mojo Boogie."

The final segment of the DVD features two absolutely scorching performances from the 1988 Pistoia Blues Festival in Italy: the extended slow blues, "Early in the Morning," and a lightening fast version of "Serious as a Heart Attack."

The release of DANZIG's brand new album, Deth Red Sabaoth returns the legendary artist to the Billboard Charts this week.
 
Deth Red Sabaoth was released on June 22 on Evilive/The End Records and is Danzig's ninth studio album and first in over six years. The album debuts this week on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #35 and at #3 on the Top Independent Album Chart. It marks Danzig's highest-charting album since the release of Danzig 4 in 1994.
 
The 11-track collection was written and produced by Glenn Danzig and joining Glenn in the studio for the recording of Deth Red Sabaoth were guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), a Danzig cohort on and off since 1997, and drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Seventh Void).  While Kelly has toured with Glenn intermittently since 2002, this is the first time he has recorded with the band.  Glenn handled the bass chores for most of the album, and played drums on "Black Candy."
 
The CD cover artwork for Deth Red Sabaoth is an original painting by the award-winning artist Joe Chiodo whose work has graced not only Danzig's Verotik publishing line, but the covers of numerous graphic novels and comic books, including "X-Men Unlimited."
 
Deth Red Sabaoth marks Danzig's ninth studio venture that began back in 1988 with the Rick Rubin-produced, Platinum-certified, Danzig. In 1993 "Mother" became a major hit and added to his iconic status that began over a decade earlier when he founded the near-mythic punk band Misfits and then Samhain.  Sales of over ten-million albums later and having been dubbed "goth-punk's godfather" by SPIN, Glenn Danzig is arguably the most versatile talent to emerge from hardcore's first wave, and truly is a renaissance man - a graphic designer, photographer, comic book publisher and composer.  His venture into composing and recording classical music yielded Black Aria, that debuted at #1 on Billboard's Classical charts, and Black Aria II, that had Glenn sharing the Billboard/Classical's Top Ten with Itzhak Perlman and Andrea Bocelli.  His indelible stamp is on artists like Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails, and he has written songs that have been sung by a diverse array of artists, from Metallica to Roy Orbison to Johnny Cash.

In a first for the company, Taylor Guitars is inviting players to "rock it your way" with the launch of the company's new online SolidBody Configurator. Fans of Taylor's Classic, Standard and Custom SolidBody electrics can now use the Configurator to custom-design a model by tailoring their choice of pickup configurations, colors and the option of a tremolo or stoptail bridge piece to dial in their perfect tone and look.

Starting with the choice of three body styles (Classic, Standard and Custom), players have the option of selecting from a variety of different pickup combinations. Options include two mini or full-sized high gain (HG) or high definition (HD) humbuckers, two or three mini HD or HG humbuckers, three single coils, or a two single coil and one full-size HG pickup split. Introduced earlier this year at Winter NAMM and available for the first time in the SolidBody line are the Vintage Alnico (VA) pickups. A familiar sound to many electric guitar enthusiasts, the VA pickups pay homage to the tradition of classic humbuckers while also adding a modern sonic flavor. Five different pickguard colors, including solid black, parchment, traditional tortoise, and black or white pearloid, are also among the Configurator's palette of options. For the SolidBody Standard and Custom models, a direct-mount pickup option is also offered instead of a pickguard.

After selecting a pickup combination and pickguard color, fans of the whammy bar will have the option of adding the Taylor tremolo to their SolidBody. Sitting on top the sleek, yet comfortable Taylor-designed fulcrum vibrato bridge, the tremolo features a modern design, one that David Hosler of Taylor's product design team calls "inspiring." "One of the most unique things with this tremolo is that it has a very modern feel," he explains. "Traditional tremolo users will be impressed with the easy-to engage action of the bar. On top of looking cool, this trem feels good and sounds even better." A stoptail piece is also available to players as an option.

Exclusive to the SolidBody Classic model, a selection of vibrant colors are offered, including Lava Red Pearl, Jewelescent Orange, Purple Flake, Blue Metallic, Viper Blue, Magenta Pearl, Sublime, Tobacco Sunburst, Sage Green and Titanium Pearl. The Classic is also offered in traditional color options, including Black, Natural, Trans Red and Trans White.

At the end of the online design process, the SolidBody Configurator gives players the opportunity to download a photo of the configured guitar, e-mail the picture, print the specs, or be directed to one of Taylor's premier electric dealers to place their order.

Each SolidBody features either a single, three- or five-way pickup switch, comfortable tone and volume control knobs, Taylor's proprietary T-Lock™ single bolt neck, and comes ready to rock in a Taylor hard case. The suggested retail prices for the SolidBody Classic options start at $1,748, for the SolidBody Standard at $2,398, and for the Custom at $3,098.

 Paul Gilbert unleashes his 3^rd instrumental masterpiece on Shrapnel Records, August 3rd to the world. “FUZZ UNIVERSE is my third guitar instrumental album,” explains Gilbert. “Being a fan of pop music and rock bands, I am a reluctant convert into the art of instrumental rock music. But after touring with Joe Satriani’s G3, I witnessed firsthand the power of the electric guitar to take center stage and rock the audience. Playing my guitar-driven songs live was a blast! This discovery led to a huge increase in my touring as a solo artist. In the last couple of years, I've played nearly 150 shows all over the world, with my guitar leading the way.”

FUZZ UNIVERSE title is inspired by Gilbert being so immersed in the world of guitar it made him realize that he lives in a FUZZ UNIVERSE. “Every generation of guitar players has their own terminology for the rock guitar sound: Distortion, Overdrive, Gain, Crunch, Saturation, Drive etc. For me, the word is FUZZ”

“On FUZZ UNIVERSE, I think I've taken a giant step closer to the ultimate rock guitar sound and playing of my dreams. I've used many of my signature techniques from RACER X and MR. BIG, but twisted them into new chords, grooves, and emotions.

As always, my influences are diverse and not what you might expect from a "heavy metal" artist. While I was writing the songs for FUZZ UNIVERSE, I was immersing myself in Bulgarian Female Choir music, Baroque lute and violin pieces, Johnny Cash songs about trains, cows, mules, and mining coal, the Bee Gees, and Ronnie James Dio. I mix all this into my head, and out came endless new ideas for my guitar to chew on.

After several months of being locked in my writing room, I gathered my touring band together and headed to the studio. Jeff Bowders played drums. Craig Martini played bass. Emi Gilbert (my wife) played keyboards. And I bent the guitar strings until I couldn't play anymore.

As usual, there are no dramatic stories here. No heroin overdoses, motorcycle accidents, celebrity divorces, or band-member boxing matches. The emotion, drama, and power are all in the music. That is the universe that I want to live in”

Paul Gilbert is regarded internationally as one of the greatest players in the industry. Starting his recording career with Shrapnel Records as a teenager in the late 80’s, Gilbert remains one of the most active guitarists from the original shred guitar scene. His rise to Platinum success includes a number one song with Mister Big, and cult status as founding member of the legendary and highly successful underground progressive metal band Racer X.
