Welcome to Lis's Lounge

Well, hi there kiddies and welcome to Lis's Lounge....well I had to call my corner something didn't I?  MUAHAHAHAHAHA  Ok, you've caught me in one of my weird moments...well, most of them are BUT then I have NEVER claimed to be normal.

I'm really excited to be a part of this publication, I mean, it's not everyday that a wife and stay at home mother of 4 boys gets to write a column for a rock mag.  It's amazing, thrilling, educational and very fulfilling all at the same time.

My life has always been focused around music.  It makes up a HUGE part of who I am.  While at home, I don't have the tv on...nope, not me, I have my stereo or one of the many playlists I have on one of the computers going.  I am not complete without music.  So much, that while on the phone w/ Jenny (one of our other writers) one day, I was singing and didn't even realize it.  I was looking something up online and just started singing.  It's like breathing, I don't think about it, I just do it.

What was that?  What's playing right now?  UR So Vain by Faster Pussycat, and of course I'm singing along, come on, how can you NOT sing along to this song?  Do you remember watching Scooby Doo when they would have the celebs on?  I think they should have done one of Scooby Doo Meets Faster Pussycat.  THAT would have been a FUN episode...*wink*

OK, a few little facts about ME as I'm always doing stories on facts about others.

My favorite band is: Sixx:A.M. (big surprise huh?)  And I heard the cd long before I got the chance to read the book, BUT when you have the combination it is an amazing, life changing experience. 

My favorite book:  There is NO way for me to answer this question as I am an AVID reader.  I am in the middle of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series and am on book 6, A Crown of Swords.  I have 4 bookshelves that have NO room left on them.  I'll have to find some place to stash my new ones until my husband gets my new book shelf built for me. (It's gonna be coffin shaped). 

First Concert:  Def Leppard and Europe.  It was a present for my 15th birtday from my mom.  It was the Hysteria tour and sadly it wasn't in the round as it was at the fairgrounds in OKC. BUT I didn't care as the Leps were my fav band AND it was before Steve Clark died.

Favorite TV Show:  I don't watch much TV but I do on occasion and my 2 favs are Total Drama Island (it's on cartoon network) and Iron Chef America on Food Network.  One for the kid and one for the chef in me...hehehee. 

I love to cook, sing, and hang out with my family.  Not only am I a rocker, I'm a rennie and LOVE ren faires...well, good ones anyway. 

SO, there it is for now.  Of course if you wanna play 20 questions, feel free to shoot some my way and I'll answer them as best as I can for you.  But until then, keep rockin, keep reading and keep warm....ugh...I HATE winter...did I mention that????
