That's what I like to See

By   Thu, Jan 15, 2009

If you've been reading the mag, or have been on myspace and seen bulletins by any of the mag's authors then you've seen, read, or heard Carbon 9.

I'm excited that the word is getting out about them and I'm excited that I could help get that word out.  I get friend requests from a lot of bands and Carbon 9 is the real deal.  And yes, while I'm using my blog as another plug for the band, that's not the main reason that I'm talking about them yet again.

I LOVE good music.  And while I enjoy the songs with the theme of "Sex, Drugs and Rock N Roll", there's times I love to go beyond listening to the tongue in cheek, (or other places, depending on the song you're listening to.)  There's times that I like my lyrics to be a little deeper than what you hear on main stream radio.  And while on a musical level, you can't compare the two, (when I say this it is because the styles are so very different not becuase I'm saying one is better than the other) the last time I heard something this innovating was when Sixx:A.M. released the Heroin Diaries Soundtrack.  Give me some real life music...not just sex.  Anyone can write about sex, I mean cum on (yep, pun inteneded) it's not that much of a challenge.  But to stand up and go beyond the norm and write about REAL LIFE, about REAL SITUATIONS, about BEING TRUE, that is a whole different realm indeed.

SO...with all that being said, call or email your radio stations and request Carbon 9.  If you're an XM subscriber or Sirius for that matter....email those DJ's and request Carbon 9.  If you're in the LA area, go find out where they're playing and go check them out.  There are thousands and thousands of bands out there, and if you're like me, when you find the amazing ones that are not signed, or just signed you want everyone to know about them.  You want to see them take the world by storm, you want to see them make is just as big as bands like Motley Crue.  So yeah, I'm pushing this band, because they have what it takes to be a hard hitter in the batting cage of rock n roll.

I LOVE when we're able to get the word out... And plugging bands just as much! I mean, that's what I'm trying to do... Let the world know about all the amazing music they've missed up until this point. Many times, those bands people don't know about, unsigned, unplayed, unwhatever are the BEST bands. Bands who have it ALL, and could go ALL THE WAY, as long as people hear about them... I love that about the music industry. How WE can actually have a say. Perhaps a small one, but it's still there.
