Back Home and I Can't Get Enough of Jeerk

By   Thu, Jul 23, 2009

Well, I'm sure many of you have wondered what happened to me, where I disappeared to...so on and so forth.  Well, since my mom lives 3 hours away and the boys don't get to see her much during the school year, I took them over to spend the month so they could really get to spend some time together.  Well, that was the plan anyway.  I came home early, but that's beside the point.  For part of the time, I took my brother's girls Tori and Samantha with us and we made our way to Branson, MO for a mini vacation that left me pretty much dead as we were all over the place going everywhere from White Water to Silver Dollar City, from Ripley's Belive it or Not to the Go Kart tracks all between a Wednesday evening and Saturday evening.  TIRING is an understatement.

All types of music can speak to a person and when you think of Branson, the first thing you are going to think of is Country.  HOWEVER, at SDC, there is currently a group that is perfroming that will blow you away.  Hailing from Sweden (and I plan on getting ahold of Tess to find out if she's had the opportunity to see them) is an amazing group called JEERK (pronounced Jerk).  While the majority of their performance deals with dancing, they are amazing musicians as well.  When I read their personal bio's on their website, I was blown away at the list of Broadway type performances they've been in, but I should not have been surprised.  This group captivated my kids, my nieces....and, well, ME.  Of course when you have a passion for dance and music as I do, there are those groups that will just jump out and demand your attention.  JEERK is one of these groups.  I honestly can not say enough about them.  Musically, they cover a multitude of genres and excell in all of them.

After seeing them, my boys want to learn to dance like they do, they've taken a more indepth interest in singing, my oldest and my niece have a whole new outlook on fashion.  (Tori found a "Jeerk Shirt" at Target..lol)  Of course when you see them, you'll understand that statement.  So, I've pulled a couple of vids from youtube for you to be able to check them out, if you haven't already.  Go add them on Myspace and Facebook....you won't be sorry!
